Martinsville Speedway President Clay Campbell to Speak at NCI

Martinsville Speedway President Clay Campbell will headline New College Institute’s next LIFE-Learning Is ForEver program March 20 from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at NCI.

"Martinsville Speedway is constantly growing and we expect to continue that trend for many years to come.  We review our facility and the operation of it after each race and look for ways to improve.  Martinsville Speedway has been a showplace for Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series racing for more than half a century and we plan to continue that for generations of race fans in the future,” said Campbell.

Campbell will address the following in his presentation:

  • Starting in 1947: The History of Martinsville Speedway
  • Our Fans: Who They Are & Where They Come From
  • Preparation: The Days, Months, & Years Before Race Weekend
  • Economic Impact: What The Speedway Means to the Area, Commonwealth of Virginia, & Surrounding Areas

Two free tickets to the STP 500 will be given to one lucky attendee.  The tickets were provided by the Speedway.  The event is free and open to the public.

"My grandfather often said that Martinsville Speedway is a work in progress, that it would never be finished.  We all still believe that…we will always be working to make it better for the fans,” said Campbell.
