These are the events for the selected month.
During the past two years, some area residents have shared their memories of the heyday of the old Baldwin block and Fayette Street, the historic heart and soul of African American life in Martinsville and Henry County. Their recollections of the facets of daily life— from church to school, work to social life, and more — form the basis for a 30-minute documentary. It aims to evoke the feeling of a neighborhood that hummed with vitality. The film has been produced for the New College Foundation (NCF) through partnership with the Fayette Area Historical Initiative (FAHI).
NCF is hosting a community viewing of this documentary on Sunday, March 1, 2015, at 4:00 p.m. at NCI’s new building. The event is free to attend and there will be light snacks available for attendees as they enjoy a look into local African American history.
Come visit NCI at the Martinsville-Henry County Chamber of Commerce's FAST TRACK 2015, the annual community trade show. We will be located on sponsorship row!

The purpose of this Town Hall Series, co-lead by Virginia Cyber Security Partnership and the Virginia Tech Councils, is to introduce the public to the mission of the Virginia Cyber Security Commission. Established by Governor Terry McAuliffe in 2014, the Virginia Cyber Security Commission brings together experts from the public and private sectors to develop recommendations that will help to position Virginia as a leader in cyber security.
Each location will feature keynote and panel presentations, as well as the opportunity for question-and-answer sessions with commission members. The talks will focus on a variety of cyber security topics, including recent hacks, best practices, federal and state programs, cyber education, and cyber crime to name a few.
