Artists of color have not traditionally been recognized in American art history.
However, African American artists have made significant contributions to American art, creating works that interpret the American story through the lens of the African American experience.
Sammy Redd, Coordinator of Student Services at New College Institute, will host an interactive discussion about how African American artists and their works both make and respond to history.
