Dear Prospective Candidate for a Master in Social Work:
It is with great enthusiasm that we announce that New College has partnered with Radford University to offer a master’s degree in social work. In spring of 2019, NCI and Radford will offer a pre-program elective entitled Substance Abuse and Dependency SWOK 615. This elective will serve as an introductory course for the Master’s program in Social Work that will be offered between March and May 2019 (students will determine the meeting frequency, dates and times). This elective will be accepted as part of the coursework for the Master’s program that will begin in Fall 2019. Additional information about the course is provided below.
Course Details and Description
In response to regional demand for educational opportunities in substance abuse and mental health, we are excited to offer members of our community this avenue to help address and combat these crises that continue to plague our community. This is a wonderful opportunity for those seeking professional development or an advanced degree.
Radford’s programs have benefitted this community, and New College is excited to offer this affordable, flexible option, especially for those employees that currently work in the Southern Virginia region. Please contact Pat Walmsley (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you need assistance with the application process or if you have additional questions.
