Liberal Studies is an interdisciplinary program developed specifically to prepare students to teach Pre-K through the middle school grades. The licensure includes a specialization in math and an option for algebra I endorsement. Additionally, the major in Liberal Studies provides a solid background in the all main content areas: the social sciences, language arts, mathematics, and the sciences.
The program provides a rich background to the Standards of Learning taught in Virginia schools. It is also designed to develop broadly informed individuals who understand contemporary issues and will provide civic and professional leadership.
