Building on Baldwin

New College Institute’s Building on Baldwin is a physical and virtual hub for best practices in education, technology, and public-private partnerships. The 52,000 square foot, three-story building houses the following:

  • Academic programs to include traditional bachelors and masters degrees and advanced manufacturing, next generation healthcare, and entrepreneurship
  • State of the art workforce training space with a high bay to mirror regional industry facilities
  • An interdisciplinary “collaboratory” designed to spark innovative ideas, design products, and develop processes that may be advanced into business plans and applied throughout the region and beyond
  • 12 classrooms and 6 informal collaborative learning spaces for partnership with Patrick Henry Community College and other NCI partners
  • Classrooms and laboratories equipped to prepare healthcare students for the growing use of telemedicine and other emerging healthcare needs
  • Simulated business workspaces to support students in developing the communication, teamwork, and technology skills employers require
  • A 10,000 square foot grand hall featuring the latest technology, an ideal location for large meeting facilities
  • The Martinsville-Henry County Economic Development Corporation’s headquarters
  • Home of the regional Piedmont Governor’s School for Mathematics, Science, and Technology
