Finance Director (close date 9-10-10)
The Finance Director is the chief fiscal officer of the agency and is a senior staff member reporting to the Executive Director. Implements and oversees all accounting, budgeting, grants administration, and auditing operations pertaining to state and private funds; develops budgets in concert with the ED; issues financial and managerial accounting reports. Knowledge of fiscal and accounting functions and of generally accepted accounting principles and practices; familiarity with state and federal guidelines for accounting and financial operations as applied to non-profit, public, or educational institutions. Experience in professional-level accounting with experience in governmental accounting, especially Virginia's CARS, FINDS, and FATS preferred. Undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting or related discipline, CPA, or Certified Government Financial Manager or similar designation preferred.
