2008 Camp Idea
July 26 - 30, 2010
Camp Idea is designed to educate middle school students through classroom engagement and practical experience.  This is done in the hopes of retaining and fostering the entrepreneurial spirit that has existed in our region for generations.  Utilizing a curriculum refined by Junior Achievement, New College Institute staff partner with local business men and women to deliver engaging and informational activities and lessons.  Participants learn the basics of entrepreneurship: what an entrepreneur is, turning personal interests into business opportunities, how to start a business, and how to write a business plan.  Guest instructors - the local business men and women - give students useful insights into the "real world" implications of what they learn in the classroom.  Throughout the week, students will work in groups to develop a business, and as the culmination of the experience, will present their finished product on the final day of camp.
