Coursework for Provisionally Licensed Teachers

Become a Fully Licensed Teacher



James Madison University's College of Education, in partnership with JMU Outreach & Engagement and the New College Institute, is excited to offer coursework designed to move teachers from provisional to full licensure.

Coursework will be available online or through other distance education methods at NCI.  Following successful completion of the courses, candidates may be recommended for licensure by their school division.



Who is eligible to enroll in this program?


Teachers employed in a Virgnia school division with a provisional license in grades 6-12 who are seeking full teacher licensure.




 

Proposed Course Schedule-



First Semester:
EDUC 490: Curriculum & Instructional Procedures
EXED 440: Classroom Management
READ 440: Reading in the Content Area (Summer 2010)

Second & Third Semester:
GPSYC 160: Human Growth & Development
EDUC 370: Foundations of Education
